Whether you are looking for a social adventure buddy, or a smoochy family canine, GAPWA’s greyhounds have a variety of personalities to match any lifestyle.
The event will take place at our Southern River facility just 30 minutes south-west of Perth. Booking is essential to reserve your spot in one of our three timeslots: 9am, 10am or 11am. Once you’ve secured your timeslot, simply submit your Adoption Application to help us get the matchmaking process started. This ensures our team can match you with the perfect greyhounds to meet at the event.

How do I book an appointment for the Adoption Day?
To register for the day your first step is to purchase a free ticket for your preferred timeslot through Eventbrite, https://bit.ly/GAPAdoptionDayNov .
Once you have completed that step you must complete an online application found at https://bit.ly/AdoptApplyGAPWA . On the application please ensure you indicate that you are attending the GAP Adoption Day in the relevant box.
The information gathered from the application will ensure the team can select your perfectly matched greyhound to meet on the day. Once your application has been received the team will begin the matchmaking process.
Where is the Adoption Day being held?
The Adoption Day will be held at the Greyhounds as Pets main facility in Southern River, 30 minutes southeast of Perth. The address is 357 Furley Road, Southern River. There will be parking directly outside out our facility, as well as street parking along Tamby Court. Please be courteous of our neighbours when parking.
Can I bring my dog?
No. We ask that all current pets are kept at home unless prior arrangement is made directly through the GAP team. The team will talk adopters through how to introduce their new greyhound to resident animals.
How much will it cost to adopt a greyhound?
Anyone who takes their new greyhound home on the day of the Adoption Day and successfully adopts them will be eligible for a reduced adoption fee of $150. Our standard adoption fee is $200. If a GAP Adoption Day match making is unsuccessful due to availability GAP will honour the $150 price until 31 December 2024.
Which greyhounds are available to adopt?
All greyhounds listed on the GAP website listed as “Looking for a Home” will be available for adoption. Everyone who has a timeslot will be sent potential matches from the dog-a-logue ahead of the day.
Do I have to do an application beforehand?
Yes. To confirm your timeslot and to receive information on which available dogs fit your family all attendees must complete an application form beforehand.
