Eddie might be short for Edamame because this man is just full of beans! Eddie has a contagious zest for life and is happy to be involved in whatever activity his humans are doing. Eddie is a super people friendly hound but does have the tendency to forget about his long legs and manners when he gets excited about humans. For this reason, his home should have all humans 14 years old or older and be able to keep up with his zoomies. While Eddie is a social pup, he would do best as the only dog in the home or with another greyhound who can match his play style. Eddie could handle up to six hours alone and will welcome you back with full body wiggles and smooches. Like a typical greyhound he is content to explore and say hello to everyone in the neighbourhood on one or two 20-minute daily walks.
If you’re looking for a lively, loving companion who’s always ready to share the fun Eddie might be the perfect fit
To set Eddie up for success, his forever and foster homes would be similar environments, and include;
✅ Large dog companion(s)
✅ An active household and/or medium to large backyard
✅ A mature family members (14 years or older)
Eddie Foster Update | This social butterfly is ready to bounce into his forever home
Eddie has had the best time in foster care but is ready to wiggle and wag his way into a permanent home. Eddie wholeheartedly believes that “a stranger is just a friend I haven’t met yet” and he is eager for a life where he can continue to make new friends wherever he goes.
Eddie’s foster human describes him as “a happy, go-with-the-flow boy who is always ready for the next adventure. He enjoys hanging out and getting involved with whatever is going on”. Eddie has handled all the new pet life experiences thrown at him with ease. He has successfully been toilet trained, learnt to use the dog door, and has successfully stayed home alone for up to 10 hours with two canine siblings.
Eddie has blossomed into an absolute social butterfly. His foster humans tell us that “every time we take Eddie out, he loves meeting people. He will walk right up to them and give them a friendly hello.” And that he “thinks everyone is his friend”.
Eddie isn’t just friendly with humans, he has been a polite gentleman with every canine he has met when out and about, “small, tall and everything in between. He didn’t care. Polite sniffs and walking off”. Eddie shares his foster home with two fellow greyhounds and enjoys playing and bouncing around with the younger of the two. We would love for him to join a home with a similarly bouncy and playful companion, as he absolutely thrives in their company!
Eddie would LOVE a playful and fun household with humans that would throw a ball for him to zoom after or play tug with him! However, this delightful boy also knows when it is time to settle and has been a polite gentleman when his foster human works from home. He will happily chew a toy or treat beside you as you type away on your computer, only disturbing you with his snores and occasional leg lick.
His foster humans promise he will greet you with “a wagging tail and happy face when you get home” and fill your life with his “sunny attitude”.
